The Panel
The Barbados Expedition and Assessment Panel, generally known as The Panel, was formed in the 1980s to have oversight of the Adventurous Journey section in Barbados. This involves assessing the qualifying Adventurous Journeys and setting local training standards. These standards are set to ensure that all AJ activities are in line with international requirements and local safety parameters for outdoor adventures. Panel members also offer assistance to Award units where necessary to help participants get ready for the Adventurous Journey. Membership of the Panel is by invitation of the sitting Chairman and traditionally members are persons who have been Participants.
